I always have people asking me "what's new and up and coming" when it comes to hair. Honestly, there's very little that's not popular right now. Some people still love the super straight look. Natural texture and wave are still very popular. Texturized cuts, blunt cuts, side bangs, heavy bang, no bang...you get the gist. I've also been seeing a lot of braids.
When it comes to color, everyone is so different. I still have a large request for chunkier highlights, but not the same "color blocking" that I saw two years ago. I also have a lot of requests for natural looking color.
One thing about me, if you don't know already. I can do "blended" highlights and lowlights. Do I like them? Not really. Will I try to talk you out of having them super blended? YES. Most people I talk to love the look of children's hair...when it is untouched and naturally highlighted/lowlighted. If you look at a kid's hair, their colors are not completely blended...you will see some areas that are heavier and some that are lighter. That's the way I like to do color. Come to me for your SIGNATURE look...not for the same old highlights that everyone does. :)
